Friendship is among the strongest and most celebrated of human relationships. Now for the first time friendship has served as the nexus of a ultra-premium brand of tequila. Casamigos 100% Blue Weber Agave Tequila is the creation of three lifelong friends who spent years quietly appreciating a tequila of their own making. That the friends are celebrities is secondary to the fact that the tequila they created is a sensation in its own right.

"The founders and owners of award-winning Casamigos are actor George Clooney, bar and restaurant mogul Rande Gerber and Discovery Land Company CEO and founder, Michael Meldman," says Casamigos Tequila general manager and COO David Gimpelson. "Casamigos was initially intended for personal use and to be shared only with family and friends. George and Rande worked closely with the master distiller and held many blind tastings until after 5 years the tequila was perfected."

The artisanal range is made at Productos de Fino [NOM 1416] in the Jalisco Highlands of Mexico. The agaves used for the tequila are grown in the rich, red clay soil and cool climate of the Los Altos Mountains. The agaves are harvested after maturing a minimum of 7 years and are selected for size and quality. After harvesting, the agaves are baked for 72 hours in brick ovens and slowly fermented with a proprietary strain of yeast. The fermented wash—called mosto—is then double-distilled in copper-lined pot stills.

The Casamigos Reposado 100% Blue Weber Agave Tequila is matured in charred, American white oak barrels for 7 months. During its stay in wood, the tequila develops a fetching amber/gold hue, a velvety textured body and a wafting bouquet of fresh fruit and baking spices. Its aromatics portend great things in the offing. The palate presents a delectable flavor array of caramel, chocolate, vanilla with tropical fruit notes on the finish.

Casamigos Reposado is a marvelous tequila to feature in craft cocktails. It has a well-defined character tailor-made for drink making. But like Casamigos Blanco, it is best appreciated when sipped neat.

Casamigos Blanco 100% Blue Weber Agave Tequila rests for two months prior to bottling to allow its constituent flavors to fully integrate. It's a fresh and vital tequila with a lightweight body and a bouquet saturated with luscious fruit aromas. The cool gentle entry fills the mouth with spice and the flavors of figs, pears, plums and apples. The lingering finish is warm and delicate.
