If you're in the market for a backbar sensation with a universally appealing flavor that's unlike anything on the market, then look no further than Jaan Liqueur. It's about the most exotic and sensual liqueur on the market today.

The Jaan brand name is a Hindi/Urdi word, a term of endearment meaning "life or dear/love/beloved." The liqueur captures the flavor of sweet Paan—consisting of a betel leaf wrap prepared with various spices and flavorings—a popular snack in Southern and Southeast Asia dating back 4000 years.

Introduced in the summer of 2011, Jaan Liqueur is an authentic treat made in Toronto from neutral grain spirits, Canadian maple syrup and a singular blend of herbs and spices. The all-natural liqueur contains no tobacco or areca nut derived products and is bottled at 25% alcohol by volume (50 proof).

The award-winning liqueur has a luminescent amber/golden hue, a satiny textured body and a spicy, semisweet bouquet of cloves, menthol and flora. Its aromatics just reinforces that the elixir is not from these parts. The palate is a spicy affair, a secret proprietary blend with notes of vanilla, zesty citrus, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. Its lingering finish reveals a touch of maple syrup.

"The Jaan was born as a blissful marriage of flavors of the East—sweet Paan— with flavors of the West—maple, vanilla, citrus," says Raj Dhanjal, president of Jaan Inc. "As a result, this hybrid, crossover flavor has a global appeal. People familiar with the taste of sweet Paan will find it refreshingly inviting and familiar. And for those not familiar with its flavor will experience a most singular and delightful taste with an absolutely captivating bouquet."

Jaan makes a marvelous addition to Martinis, chai tea, coffee and tall drinks like the Piña Colada. Among its many applications, the company promotes the Jaan Martini, a cocktail prepared with 2 parts of Jaan Liqueur, 1 part Bombay Sapphire Gin, 2 parts coconut water and 2 parts fresh lime juice. The liqueur's only limitation is your imagination.

In many parts of the world, offering guests Paan is a symbol of respect, love, friendship and hospitality—universal values that have boundaries.

Adds Dhanjal, "Similarly, offering Jaan Liqueur to your friends or family carries the same values and symbolism. It is a gesture that comes from the heart, with love and when you drink Jaan, it fills you with life. Hence the tag line, 'Drink Jaan. Love Life.'"
