Patron Citronge

Patrón Citrónge Extra
Fine Orange Liqueur

By Robert Plotkin

The brilliant flavors and vibrant personality of Patrón Citrónge Extra Fine Orange Liqueur made it a contemporary classic and a permanent resident on even the most crowded of top-shelves. Crafted in Mexico by the good folks who make Patrón Tequila, Citrónge has gained the international reputation for being unsurpassed as the orange modifier in ultra-premium Margaritas.

Produced in the highlands of Jalisco, Citrónge has a base of premium, high-proof neutral grain spirits. The liqueur's captivating flavor is derived from organic oranges grown in Jamaica and small bittersweet oranges from the island of Haiti. Their peels are macerated in neutral grain spirits, which over time imbues the alcohol with the fruits' essential oils. After the extraction process has been completed, the spirits are redistilled to fully integrate the flavors. Pure cane sugar is added to give the liqueur a balanced dose of sweetness. No artificial flavors or chemical enhancers are in its production.

Super-premium Citrónge Orange Liqueur is a slice of the good life. It has pristine clarity, a satiny textured, feather-weight body and a generous bouquet saturated with succulent orange aromas. The 80-proof liqueur tingles as it washes over the palate, filling the mouth with delectably spicy and zesty citrus flavors. Its medium finish is warm and delicious.

Great things happen when Patrón Citrónge is behind the bar. The liqueur is superb in both a supporting role or as the featured performer in a wide range of upscale cocktails.
